Powered by a wrist-watch size battery with software controlled by a single button, the self-adhesive firefly™ device is simple to use.
Use this switch to activate and deactivate the firefly™ device, and move through the stimulation levels (1-7).
The electrodes, positioned on the underside of the strap, covered by a water-based conductive hydrogel, deliver painless NMES impulses to the common peroneal nerve, activating the muscle pumps of the lower leg.
When fitting your firefly™ device, this line should be positioned at the centre of the fibula head.
Indicates the level of stimulation your firefly™ device is operating at between 1 and 7 (level 3 or 4 is usually ideal).
The firefly™ device is easily applied to the outside of the leg, just below the knee at the centre of the fibula head. The fibula head can be felt as a round protrusion at the top of the fibula bone.
Correct positioning enables integral electrodes to apply a stimulus to the common peroneal nerve which controls the contraction of the muscle pumps of the lower leg.
For best results remove any excess hair and moisturiser.
Using the grey abrasive pad, gently exfoliate the area of skin where the firefly™ device will be secured.
Wipe the area thoroughly with the electrode preparation wipe to clear any moisturiser and leave to dry for 30 seconds.
Application of your firefly™ device is simple - it takes just 60 seconds. Fit a device to each leg.
Peel off the proective film from the back of your firefly™ device.
Secure the device to a straight leg ensuring that the raised indicator line (marked with arrows) is positioned in the centre of the fibula head. The head of the device is firmly secured to the outside of the leg (towards the front) with the tail of the device wrapped around and to the rear of the leg (below the knee).
For additional adhesion, comfort and best results you can apply one of the supplied adhesive strips over the device. Alternatively, you can purchase a pair of firefly™ knee straps for a quality experience time and time again.
