Team Spotlight: Meet Jake Wilks, Firefly’s National Director of Sales
As our National Director of Sales, Jake oversees professional sports partnerships and Division I programs across the country, helping teams integrate recovery into their daily routines. We sat down with Jake to learn more about his journey with Firefly, his athletic background, and what drives him both personally and professionally.

What is your role with Firefly Recovery, and how did you first start working with the company?
I am the National Director of Sales for Firefly and oversee all of our professional sports as well as D1 programs. I was actually employee number one with the company. I was fortunate enough to get introduced to Anthony from a mutual connection at another medical device company called Ossur. Anthony “interviewed” me by having me meet him in Florida for a few meetings with MLB teams out at Spring Training. It was essentially a blind date with him and some college and pro athletic trainers. Haha. Here we are seven years later.
What does your day to day schedule look like?
Day to day, I’m either on the road meeting with teams, athletic trainers, and programs, attending conferences, or in the office hopping on Zoom calls and doing outreach.
Do you have an athletic background? If yes, tell us about it.
Yes. I played college running back at Samford University from 2012 to 2016.
Who are some athletes, athletic trainers, or coaches that inspire you and why?Christian McCaffrey is an athlete that really inspires me. I have followed him for a long time and love the way he plays. He is always one hundred percent effort and does everything he can for the team. He is also known for how hard he trains and prepares in the off season.
If you had to describe Firefly to someone in one sentence, what would you say?Firefly is the most effortless yet effective recovery tool you will ever use. Just slap it on and go.
What are some personal and professional goals you have for yourself in 2026?Personal goals are one hundred push ups a day and running twice a week for the whole year. Professionally, my goal is to get Firefly in one hundred percent of teams in a professional league this year. We are so close. Ultimately, I want to continue to grow Firefly into the most integrated recovery tool in NCAA and professional athletic training rooms, expanding into over 1,100 training rooms nationwide.
Anything else you would like to share?
Nothing makes me happier than spending time with my family. My wife and I just celebrated nine years of marriage, but we have been together since high school. We now have a beautiful seven month old baby girl and a crazy little three and a half year old boy. They are the light of my life. Being a dad is the greatest blessing in the entire world.
